This book was written by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. One day there was a boy and a girl named Hansel and Gretel. Hansel is a boy and Gretel is a girl. They lived with their dad and their stepmom. Their real mum passed away because she was very sick so the dad married the stepmom. It was in the morning when the stepmom said secretly to the dad to bring the children to the woods and leave them there but their dad disagreed.

Hansel heard everything about the stepmum's plan. He went out to the garden and collected small stones. The next day, Hansel took his sister Gretel to the woods to find a place away from home. They came across a candy house in the woods. They went in and to their surprise an old lady welcomed them, gave them a place to stay and was kind to them. Later they came to know that the old lady had a plan. She turned to be a wicked witch who loves to kidnap children.

Hansel was locked in a cage and fed with good food while Gretel was made to do all the house work.  One day Hansel and Gretel managed to escape from the witch. They pushed the wicked witch into the hot oven and they quickly ran away in the woods. They finally got home and their father was surprised and delighted to have them back. The stepmum left the father and the children lived happily with their father.

My favourite character is Hansel; he is a smart boy. My favourite part is when Gretel pushed the witch in the oven. The moral of the story is do not ever trust a stranger although when they act kind to us.
